L. L. Materne Of Moss Bluff Dead at 70

        Leanadus Luke Materne, 70, one of the first settlers of Moss Bluff community and a retired lumber company employee, died at 7 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick’s hospital.
Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. today from the Hixson funeral home with the Rev. Elton S. Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Goos Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Mr. Materne was born in St. Martinville, and was a lumber estimator when he retired from service with the Stout Lumber company. He had been with the firm for 10 years.
He belonged to the Church of Christ.
Mr. Materne lived on the Walter Goos property on the Calcasieu river. His survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
