Mrs. Helen Elliott Of Big Lake Road Dies Unexpectedly
Mrs. Helen Elliott, 64, died at 9:30 a.m. today at St. Patrick’s hospital after she was stricken with a heart attack at her home on Big Lake road.
Survivors are three sons, Charles and Hartwell, Lake Charles, and Fred, Sulphur; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon Smith, Longview, Wash., Mrs. Eugene Vincent, Sulphur, and Miss Anelda Elliott, Lake Charles, and a sister, Mrs. Barbara Gallaugher, Lake Charles.
The body was at the Burke funeral home.
Funeral arrangements had not been made.
Elliott Funeral Services Set For 4 P.M. Today
Final rites for Mrs. Helen Letitia Elliott, 64, resident of Lake Charles most of her life, were set for 4 p.m. today at the Burke funeral home, the Rev. Murphy Bernard, assistant pastor of the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception, officiating, with burial in Goos cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her three sons, Charles, Hartwell (Larry) and Fred Elliott, and Andrew Swice, Eugene Vincent and H. C. Krause.
A granddaughter of Capt. Daniel Goos, pioneer settler of Lake Charles, she was born in the old Goos home in Goosport the daughter of Charles Fitzenreiter and Mrs. Barbara Goos Fitzenreiter on November 3, 1887. Her husband, Hartwell Elliott, preceded her in death about six years ago.
Besides her sons she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Vernon Smith of Longview, Wash., Mrs. Eugene Vincent of Sulphur, Miss Anelda Elliott of Lake Charles; one sister, Mrs. Frank V. Gallaugher of Lake Charles; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
