James
Lockwood Williams, 80, formerly of Lake Charles, but for the
last 17 years a resident of Port Arthur, died at his home
there Friday.
Services will be held some time Saturday in Lake Charles at
the Burke and Trotti funeral parlors. The hour has not been
set. Burial will be in Goos
cemetery. Mr.
Williams came here first in 1886 from Beaumont. A year later
he moved to North Carolina, returning to Lake Charles in 1901.
After the death of his wife, the late Marie Goos Williams of
the Lake Charles Goos family, in 1918, he moved to Port Arthur
in 1919. In Lake
Charles Mr. Williams was in the general merchandise business,
and in Port Arthur was in the real estate business up to about
15 years ago when he retired. He was born in Madison, Ind.,
September 9,
1856. Surviving
are two sons, Lee Williams of Lake Charles and Lockwood
Williams, Jr., of Port Arthur.
