Maplewood
Radiotrician Dies at Home
Herbert D.
Schap Sr., 67, died at 3 a.m. today in his home at 224 Beverly
Place,
Maplewood.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the
Burke-Hammer funeral home. Burial will be in Goos
cemetery. A
rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral
home. A native
of Plymouth, England, he came to Lake Charles in 1929 and has
resided in the area
since. He was
one of the first "radiotricians" in this part of Louisiana. He
was in the radio repair business from the early 1930's until
1941. He had been employed in various other jobs until his
retirement in
1961. Survivors
are his wife, Mrs. Relief Jessen Schap; two sons, Herbert
Schap Jr. of Lafayette and Edward E. Schap of Lake Charles;
one daughter, Mrs. Glen Bonin of Sulphur; and nine
grandchildren. |
