Materne Services Set for Today

Funeral services for Charles E. Materne, 68, who died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at his home, 1820 Simmons avenue, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday from the residence. the Rev. J. Henry Bowden, pastor of First Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery in charge of Burke funeral home.

Mr. Materne was a life-long resident of Lake Charles. Formerly in the timber business, he had more recently been engaged in the retail grocery business.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Alfred E., Thomas A., and C. Ernest Materne, all of Lake Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Walter J. Goos and Mrs. Johnny Pierce, both of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren; and a brother, L. L. Materne of Orange, Tex.
