ALBERT GOOS DIES AT LAKE CHARLES.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD TODAY FOR MEMBER OF OLD FAMILY
Lake Charles, La., June 16, 1935.
Albert Goos, 68, member of one of the oldest families of the city, died in his home at Goos’ ferry early Sunday morning after an illness of five weeks.
He had been in the timber department of the Southern Pacific lines as purchasing agent for a number of years. He was born in the old Goos home in Goosport, his family being connected with the early timber industry. He was a brother of the late Mrs. J. A. Bel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Monday morning in the home, and at 11 o’clock in the Goos cemetery, Rev. T. V. Herndon, pastor of Trinity Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be by Burke and Trotti, funeral directors.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Laura Reeves; four sons, Albert, Leno, Pat, and Walter Goos, all of this city; four daughters, Mrs. Albert Koontz, Mrs. Elder Koontz, Mrs. Frederica Brady, all of Goos’ ferry, and Mrs. Willie Conrad of Westlake; two brothers, Walter Goos, police juror, and Fred Goos, both of this city.

FINAL RITES ARE HELD FOR ALBERT GOOS AT HOME
Member of Pioneer Timber Family Dies After Five Weeks’ Illness.
Services for Albert Goos, 68, who died at the family residence at Goos’ ferry early Sunday morning following a five weeks’ illness, were held at the home at 10 o’clock Monday morning, with the Rev. T. V. Herndon, pastor of Trinity Baptist church of Lake Charles, officiating. Burial was in Goos family cemetery at 11 o’clock with Burke & Trotti in charge.
Mr. Goos was the youngest son of the late Captain Daniel Goos and Katherine Moeling Goos, pioneer family in development of the timber and lumber industry in Southwest Louisiana. The couple reared to manhood and womanhood a family of 15 children.
BORN IN HISTORIC HOME
Mr. Goos was a brother of the late Mrs. J. A. Bel, and for several years was connected with the Southern Pacific timber department as purchasing agent. He was born in the old historic Goos home in Goosport, December 17, 1866.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura Reeves Goos; four daughters, Mrs. Albert Koonce, Mrs. Elder Koonce, Mrs. Frederica Brady, of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Willie Conrad of Westlake; four sons, Albert, Leno, Pat, and Walter S. Goos, all of Lake Charles; and two brothers, Walter S. Goos, police juror of Ward 3, and Fred M. Goos, both of Lake Charles.
