Mrs. Medora Jessen, daughter of Capt. D. Goos, died in the city of New Orleans on the 4th inst. and was buried in the family graveyard at Goosport last Wednesday. A large concourse of friends followed the deceased lady to her last resting place, and endeavored by great sympathy to console the aged father and weeping brothers and sisters. The writer feels the death of Mrs. Jessen acutely. Years ago when he stood on the threshold of life, she was a dear and constant friend who in his absence from home filled the place of a sister, not has the wide separation of their different paths in life lessened the feelings of love and esteem she awakened in him then. A good daughter, affectionate sister, true wife, loving mother and faithful friend has gone to rest.

We are called upon to chronicle the death of Mrs. Medora Goos, daughter of our worthy old friend and citizen, Capt. Daniel Goos, and wife of Mr. Emile Jessen, which sad event occurred in the city of New Orleans last Monday. Her remains were brought to this city and interred in the family grave yard at Goosport Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. The large circle of mourning friends and relatives baye the sympathy of the entire community in the hour of their bereavement.
