DERIDDER (Spl.) – Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Powell, 75, of New Orleans will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Trinity Episcopal church in DeRidder. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery under the direction of Hixson funeral home.

Mrs. Powell died in New Orleans at 11 p.m. Wednesday.

She is a former resident of DeRidder and was the wife of the late Frank Powell, a DeRidder lawyer. She was the granddaughter of Capt. Daniel Goos, one of the first settlers of Lake Charles.

Mrs. Powell is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harold Kelly of New Orleans; one son, Dr. Frank E. Powell III, also of New Orleans; one sister, Mrs. Frank Catlin of Los Angeles and one grandchild.
