FLANDERS DIES AT HOME MONDAY, 9 A. M. Member of Sewerage
Board and Citizen Here Since 1879
William W.
Flanders, citizen of Lake Charles since 1879 and a member of
the sewerage board, District No. 1 since its organization, died
suddenly at his home 605 Mill St., Monday morning at 9
o'clock.
Deceased was a member of the Broad Street Methodist church and
of the I. O. O. F. fraternity. Funeral services will be held
Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, Rev. L. I. McCain pastor of
his church officiating. The local I. O. O. F. will be in
charge of the services and burial at Graceland
Cemetery. The
deceased was born in New Orleans, July 22, 1860, and was the
son of Captain W. C. Flanders. He came to Lake Charles 51
years ago and married Miss Katherine Goos, October 3, 1883.
There are no children of this union and only the widow and a
nephew, Earl Flanders of Columbia, Miss. survive. For many
years Mr. Flanders was with the J. A. Bel Lumber Company, and
has always taken an active interest in public affairs of his
city and
parish.
