DIED:
WACHSEN – In the city of Galveston, November 8, 1884, Rosalie Goos, wife
of Capt. Harry Wachsen, and daughter of Capt. Daniel Goos of
Lake Charles.
When we see the babe torn from the loving arms of its mother
we cry out in sympathetic pain with her. When the aged one is
taken we mourn and long for the face and voice that can never
return to us. But when a mother is called from the home where
a husband and children's love are centered in her, then indeed
is the sorrow heavy, and words cannot express our sympathy, we
can only press the hand and whisper, "God comfort you." We
knew Rosie in the happy days of her girlhood, and seldom have
we known one more happy and joyous in disposition, always
hopeful, making home pleasant and bright. As a wife, loving,
true and helpful, as a mother, sacrificing and devoted; as a
neighbor, kind, and ever ready to help, no matter under what
circumstances. Sad indeed must be that home. Great indeed the
void in the hearts of the bereaved ones. Let us pray that, in
the "Home over there," we may meet again dear
Rosie. RELIEF. New Orleans, Nov. 10, 1884. |
