SIMPSON FORMER RESIDENT, PASSES AWAY
Relatives in
Lake Charles have received the news of the death of J. G.
Simpson, of Houston, Texas, which occurred this morning at the
family home
there. Mr.
Simpson left Lake Charles 11 years ago to make his home in
Houston, and has been in business there since that time. He
was a well known lumberman in this section for many years and
was well known among the leaders in that industry in this
section. Mr.
Simpson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Wachsen Simpson,
one son Jack, and two daughters, Mrs. Ira Hahn and Mrs. Bruce
Layer, all of
Houston. Funeral
services will be conducted by Rev. George F. Wharton from the
Burke Funeral home at 10:30 Tuesday morning, and interment
will be in Goos cemetery.

LAKE
CHARLES, La., Nov. 15. – Last rites for J. G. Simpson, 69,
former Lake Charles lumberman, who died Monday morning at his
home in Houston, were conducted from the parlors of the Burke
funeral home here Tuesday morning. Rev. George F. Wharton
officiated. Burial was in the Goos
cemetery. Mr.
Simpson had resided here and was engaged in the lumber
industry until 11 years ago. Survivors are his wife, Mrs.
Della Wachsen Simpson; one son Jack, and two daughters, Mrs.
Ira Hahn and Mrs. Bruce Meyer, all of Houston, and distant
relatives in Lake
Charles.
Pallbearers were Charles Richardson, Lock Paret, Clyde
Williams, M. L. Christenson, Dr. Paul Quilty, George Neely,
Dan Harmon and John Chavanne.
