Gordon Goos

        MOSS BLUFF Gordon L. Goos, 84, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, in his residence.
        He was born in Hecker and lived in the Goos Ferry community most of his life. Gordon retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 861 and served his country in World War II. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who always had a great sense of humor.
        Survivors are his wife of 66 years, Laura Goos; son Wesley Goos and wife Donna of Goos Ferry; daughter Juanita Munoz and husband Rick of Lompoc, Calif.; grandchildren, Leslie Goos, Shelly Welch, Christa LaFleur, Cali Munoz and Kaitlin Munoz; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Pauline Daughtery of Goos Ferry.
        His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. The Rev. U. A. Dorion and the Rev. Don Barrett will officiate. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in New Goos Cemetery of Moss Bluff.
